sir,

I have the honour to report that I have grant-

ed to Mr.G.Stafford Northcote, Assistant Postmaster General,

three months' vacation leave on full pay, and with the advice

of the Executive Council three months' leave of absence on

half pay on Medical Certificate, of which a copy is enclosed;

leave to commence on the 16th.instant, Satisfactory arrange-

ments have been made for the discharge of Mr. Northcote's du-

ties during his absence.

2. The usual leave certificate is enclosed.

3. From the medical certificate you will ob-

serve serve that Mr. Northcote's health has of late years heen

so unsatisfactory as to render it doubtful whether he is fit

for further service in this climate, and I would recommend

that before he is permitted to return to this Colony, he should

be further medically examined.
